As we approach 50 years since President Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas, WFAA continues to bring you the stories behind the headlines.

Buell Frazier was an employee at the Texas School Book Depository back in 1963. On the day JFK was slain, he gave accused assassin Lee Harvey Oswald a ride to work.

On Saturday, Frazier he took part in the Sixth Floor Museum’s “Living History” series, saying the Oswald he knew was not the “nut case” seen in the media and history books.

“The Lee Oswald I knew, you could be self-educated and be quite intelligent,” Frazier said. “I think Lee was much more intelligent than they gave him credit for.”
