An FBI Memorandum dated October 25, 1968 has recently been released regarding their intention to prevent public access to autopsy photographs and a neuropathology report from the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy in Los Angeles on June 6, 1968. All copies are to be collected and secured following the trial of Sirhan Sirhan in December, 1968.  Note that Cartha Deke DeLoach of Division V, which ran COINTELPRO, says that these materials are to be kept in “my office – per instructions of Mr. Toland.

See page 372 of this PDF for original document – http://www.governmentattic.org/3docs/FBI-CFR-With-Appx.pdf. I have transcribed what I could below. Brackets [ ] denote handwritten or stamped text. There is a topic and name index at the end of the document starting with page A-1 – JJ

Subject: ASSASSINATION OF SENATOR
ROBERT F. KENNEDY
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
[Conf. File Room]
Los Angeles Authorities have provided our Los Angeles Office with the photographs of the autopsy of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy as well as the neuropathology report pertaining to the post-mortem examination. This material has been forwarded to the Bureau. [See LA airtel 10/1/68 (62-587-989)

Legislation is currently pending in the State of California which would restrict this material from the general public.

ACTION:
In view of the sensitive nature of this material it is recommended that it should be maintained in the Special File Room of the Records Branch and should be charged out only upon the special authority of the Assistant Director, General Investigative Division.

Los Angeles has a set of these photographs and report which they are affording top security. Upon conclusion of Sirhan’s trial set for 12/9/68, at which time it would appear Los Angeles would have no need for such material, all photographs and related material will be forwarded to the Bureau for safe keeping.

I would like to know when Kennedy’s Autopsy report was released to the general public..It seems like it was not released until recently as I recall.Maybe the reason for it’s delay was that Robert Kennedy was murdered by someone other then Sirhan…………Proof? Mr Kennedy took three shots to the rt rear portion of his scalp..These shots were so close to the Senator that his hair was singed by the muzzle of the weapon..Sirhan was never behind Bobby Kennedy…Sirhan is not guilty of the murder of RFK..why is he still paying for a crime he cold not have done
