Texas Theatre Events November 21-23 in Dallas

The historic Texas Theater where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested by 26 Dallas policemen for failing to buy a movie ticket is showing JFK assassination related films all weekend, including War is Hell, which was playing on November 22, 1963.

Thurs, November 21 –
Rush to Judgement, 16mm w/ John Slate, made famous as the JFK Conspiracy theorist in Richard Linklater’s 1992 film SLACKER- will introduce the movie RUSH TO JUDGMENT, a documentary film that explores various conspiracy theories tied to the fateful day. Based on Mark Lane’s 1966 book of the same name, the documentary challenges the Warren Commission findings and has never-before-seen interviews with assassination witnesses including Abraham Zapruder, James Tague, Charles Brehm, Mary Moorman, Jean Hill, Lee Bowers, Sam Holland, James Simmons, Richard Dodd, and Jessie Price.

LIVE STAGED (Partial) READING of the WARREN COMMISSION REPORT
At 6:30pm, the ticketed evening program begins with an on-stage theatrical re-creation of the Warren Commission interviews, relevant Warren Commission testimony from established Dallas actors, with the Texas Theatre’s employees, Julia Postal and Butch Burroughs, as well as John Brewer, the man who noticed Lee Harvey Oswald enter the Texas Theatre.

Following the performance, the stage will be reset for an 8:00pm 35mm archival print presentation of Oliver Stone’s “JFK” w/ a special guest or two.

Saturday, November 23 –
KNON lounge dinner recreating JFK’s dinner the night before he was assassinated and an encore “JFK” screening.
