COPA NEEDS YOU!!!
VOLUNTEERING IN DALLAS
The Coalition on Political Assassinations conferences and events rely solely on volunteer help each year. This year at one of our largest and most important conferences we need extra help with certain tasks. If you can assist during the period from November 21-25 in Dallas or any part of it please let us know at copa@starpower.net.
LEAFLETING NOVEMBER 21-22
We have designed a broadsheet in conjunction with the Columbus Free Press and Pete Johnson. We will be printing 5,000 for distribution on November 21-22 at various locations. We suggest that people pair up to do the leafleting at these various events to prevent harassment of any kind. Leafleting will be legal in Dallas streets and outside Dealey Plaza. Some sites have been designated for our leafleting as well. Here are places and times we hope to cover. Feel free to reprint the broadsheet we will be posting here in PDF as well. Sad to hear same old lies “Osward acted alone” after all these years and evidence to the contrary.
I believe Mayor Rawlings’ closed event in Dealey Plaza is the Last Hurrah for those who still believe in the Warren Report. These are people who have rejected the findings of the House Select Committee on Assassinations, and all the other official document releases since 1964. The event in the plaza is really about Rawlings re-election campaign for Mayor of Dallas.
We should be prepared to explain the basic reasons we object to the Warren Report, and Rawlings, as this proceeds. It’s believers in the Warren Report who are the ‘kooks’ – – not us.
I am saddened and embarrassed by the handling of this event by the Rawlings Administration. The Dallas County Democratic Party managed memorial services for a period of 10 years, when the City of Dallas decided not to continue them. Now it is being cut out, too. Also cut out are staff members of the US House Select Committee on Assassinations. And not to mention the good people who have received city permits to hold the assembly and Moment of Silence in the past – – who complied with the terms of these permits 100%.
I have found my recording of Penn Jones interview by Lou Staples on KLIF-1190 from November, 1973. I have maintained this tape for 40 years. I expect to have it available on disks, and offer them at my cost, in the interest of preserving memories of the late Penn Jones and the late Lou Staples, and their efforts.
I am eager to hear the interview, I would like two copies. Lou Staples seems to have been forgotten, what you are doing is important: Lou had many excellent programs on the assassination.
